I am so sorry, I really wanted to like this - my last connection to the Originals. I find it boring and shallow - Hope needs an anchor - a connection to one of the old gang - something to give this show more depth. Alaric - I don’t think so. Unless this is just a teenage show with dragons and spiders... Where is the true, complex, emotional magic? Boring and lacking of any depth whatsoever - which is another way of saying boring and shallow. Like I said, I am a huge fan of Julie Plec, wanted to like this but it’s just flat. I am not criticizing the show’s decisions, I am no expert, just a viewer and I know magic in a show when I see it. Here, I got nothing.
