I found the plot improbable and the naivety and self- absorption of the two women completely unbelievable. It was a huge disappointment as I had loved 'the Giver of Stars' - a truly unusual book. Apart from a woman flying to the Congo with no idea that there was a war on, etc etc, the book was patronising in its attitude to people of 60 - old? Really. I don't think so.
