Hello to all of the readers out there, and this is the unlikely tale of how this wonderful masterpiece of a movie saved my life, twice.
It all started when my life was put at serious risk due to Corona Virus 19, and I had been admitted to the Hospital. The feeling labeled as "boredom" entered my body, so I decided to look for movies. They all looked terrible and low budget - The Lion King, Titanic, Star Wars, etc. I was about to give up, but then... I saw it. It almost blinded me which would have been truly awful because I had already lost my smell and taste from covid, what's next, my hearing? But it didn't. I clicked on the remote and that click brought me the most joy I had every experienced.
When i started watching it, I knew. I knew how special this movie was, and it proved me more than right. Suddenly, I was watching it over and over for hours. It brought me the sense of hope I needed to beat covid. When they made me leave the hospital, I went through all stages of grief because I knew they were merely attempting to separate me from Mac And Me. But I decided I would purchase it the minute I got home.
The characters charmed me, and pushed me to go on. They inspired me. I have been wheelchair user for the past 119 years, since when I was just a young toddler who didn't quite know how to use a chainsaw. I just didn't have the skills of the brilliant movie character with the name "Mac"
The second time it saved my life was 2 weeks later, when I adopted a dog (or cat, I'm not completely sure what it is. For all I know it's a lizard!) I named it Mac. I decided to bond with him by taking us both on a hike and I saw a view that knocked my socks off. Well, it certainly would have if I had feet to put socks on. I wheeled my chair over to a hill and because this chair has been in use since 1903, by me, It's brakes stopped working, like the movie! I am not sure how I let this happen but there I was, in the lake. If i hadn't taught Mac (my dog/cat/lizard) the trick of water rescue involving people and wheelchairs after seeing Mac and Me, I would be dead today.
Thank you for reading this as I typed it out on my typewriter and PLEASE watch this movie. It is truly amazing.
