This documentary was really insightful.
In response to another reviewer who said this;
“Of course, it'll look like more people of color per 100,000 population are incarcerated - but it should show the number of incarcerated in relation to the number who committed crimes”
Yes, I agree! We should show the number of those incarcerated vs. the number of those who committed crimes.
Did you know that the average American, knowingly or not, commits 3 arguable felonies a day?
But, if no ones watching them, then no one sees, and they don’t get arrested. Just because they weren’t arrested doesn’t mean they didn’t do a crime.
Black people don’t commit more crimes then white people, they’re just watched more closely &, when it comes to incarceration, serve significantly more time than a white person for the same crime.
