These reviews are fascinating. I am 77 and read Dune when it first came out. I thought it was escapist fiction which is not to say I didnèt enjoy it. I did. Then in 1984 the first film came out and I saw it. It was fascinating but awkward at key points. The new Dune, I thought was loud, juvenile and awful. Go see it.
