There's a lot to be impressed by from this movie. The cast is great in their individual roles, especially Mr. Terrific who was a highlight of the whole thing. The action is fast and thrilling but also a bit disorienting. It almost feels like a completely different movie when they start flying around punching stuff. The effects look great and some of the set piece scenes are amazing to look at on the big screen. The problem is that it all felt very hollow and never really quite gelled as a fully fleshed out story. It felt like a sequel that could never have lived up to the hype of the original which I guess is true in some sense given the long history of the property. I think this could have worked much better as a tv series that could have taken time with each episode to really let the audience connect and care. Instead, I found myself not really worrying about any of the people who needed saving from Superman and I didn't worry much more about any of the other characters either. It fell flat for me, unfortunately.
