"Eric" on Netflix is a major letdown, failing to deliver on nearly every front. The plot is a muddled assortment of clichés and uninspired twists, making it hard to stay engaged. It feels as though the creators lacked a clear vision, resulting in a storyline that's both confusing and painfully predictable.
The characters are disappointingly flat, and it's difficult to care about their journeys. The acting is generally lackluster, with performances that seem half-hearted and devoid of real emotion. The production design and cinematography are equally uninspired, with nothing that stands out or captivates the viewer.
Pacing is another issue, with episodes dragging on and filled with unnecessary scenes that add little to the story. Each episode feels longer than it should, making it a chore to watch.
The only saving grace of the show is Benedict Cumberbatch, whose performance brings a glimmer of life to an otherwise dull series. Without his involvement, "Eric" would likely fall flat entirely. Cumberbatch’s talent is the only reason to consider giving this show a chance.
