It's really like 2.5* I'm not even 1/2 way through and I have no motivation to finish watching. Leslie Nielsen had a way of playing this role straight but you didn't believe it. It seems like Neeson plays it straight to no comic effect. Pamela Anderson kind of shocked me with the first part of her scat. Not bad. Apart from that? Meh. I'd also say that the low budget appearance of the original suited the ethos of the movie more. In short, this movie lacks the camp of the original.

This show had a lot of potential. Season 3 has been a 2.5 at best. Way too many quirky episodes.

When the "coming soon" came up on Netflix I was going to put it into my watch list then saw that Jennifer Lopez was in it. Yeahyeahyeah, I'm one of those guys. I have never enjoyed any one of her movies. When it arrived on NF, I had forgotten that I wasn't going to watch it so I started it. I had to look up who the lead was and recalled why I wasn't going to watch. I started it to give it a chance. There are 1H16 remaining and I said, meh, turn it off. Nothing really compelling here at all. All the other negative reviews covered the bases for me.

I don't usually review movies but after watching Heart of Stone and reading some of the "I don't usually review movies and I can't believe you gave it such bad ratings" posts, I just wanted to troll those people. Especially whoever pulled the racist/misogynist card. I give you 5* for your buffoonery.

26 minutes in and I got to wonder if this movie would redeem itself so I came looking for reviews. Shutting it off now. One reviewer cited Julia Roberts as one good thing here, but she's the reason I came looking for any hint of redemption. She sucks so far.

I enjoyed this. I have no familiarity with the book. I won't be as harsh as James Austin above me😆 but he's got a lot of good points. The rebuttal really missed James' point. He was repulsed by the execution, not by any changes made from the book. Anyhow... I said I have no familiarity with the book but this series evokes a lot of recollections of the likes -"Everything Everywhere All at Once" (Chinese? Duh. 😆 But also the interdimensional/spectral travel -A dash of "12 Monkeys" the series for the cultish conspiracies -"The Event" series for the intergalactic colonization trope -Any Cheech and Chong movie for Saul's predilection for getting high. Does that make it derivative? Maybe it's just the series.

I'm giving it 4* after watching season 14. It has run its course. I'll 5* for the first 10 seasons, give or take. Great writing, excellent character interplay. However the last bunch of seasons started to decline. What I found about season 14 specifically was that the irreverence was gone. Also, it was notable that all the characters got their lines in. It might have gone unnoticed except that those lines were often delivered like they were getting their lines in. I'm looking at Cyril and Kreiger specifically. Fresh blood is good but Zara was not really well developed nor integrated into the team/show - waste of effort. Worth watching but because I'm a fan but I think this should have been the last season and therefore the show should have been given more solid closure.

The overall storyline is good, probably unrealistic. My biggest issues are the acting and the writing. Much of the acting is amateur, and the writing is predictable and cliché.

It's that shipwreck that serves as a warning to men. Learn from Cooper. ETA: It was a bit of guilty pleasure to watch and I finished the season. Simply due to the theme, it was at times really painful to watch, especially Cooper. After all that was gone through, it seemed that the writers/producers really want to milk this theme for a second season. The season finale is really patronizing (maybe the wrong word) to the viewer. Second season ETA. I think the writers didn't know what to do and and decided to create an X-rated Virgin River. First season was painful but addictive. The first couple of episodes so far have been nearly predictable.

15 minutes in. Mike Myers has fallen. Very juvenile writing, weak acting.
