When Robert De Niro made a scene at an awards show and stood at the podium and shouted F' Trump. I swore I would never watch another one of his movies. But tonight I sat through 3 1/2 hours of The Irishman starring this has-been. I watched it because there were so many other fine actors in it plus there was no extra cost since it was Netflix. If I had Netflix stock I would sell it as soon as the stock market opened. This movie was their attempt to throw down the gantlet in the streaming wars. What a joke! Take The Sopranos, The Godfather, Casino, Goodfellas and a Road Runner/Wile E Coyote cartoon and mash them all together. You will end up with The Irishman. Martin Scorsese should be ashamed of himself. I guess you reach a point in life where you just don't even have to make an effort anymore. Just show up, spit on the audience and get money thrown at you simply for your name. The only good thing for me was to watch De Niro struggle to get through this movie. In some most parts the struggle is real. He walks around as if there is a steel rod up his spine. There is one scene where it is obvious that he has one useless arm. I guess he needed the money after the divorce he just went through. I would love to yell out to him F' De Niro but he did it to himself without my help......
