Forget all the critical acclaim, its not warranted. This is a classic example of a director trying to make a "clever clever" film that he has neither the talent or knowledge to pull off in any way at all. It is dull, pretentious and has absolutely nothing worthwhile to say.
If the directors intention was to create a kind of retro/sci-fi version of Coppola's The Conversation then he misses by a mile.
I hate to be so negative but, despite what the critics say, it is a flawed piece of work with virtual no redeeming features.
