The 1st season was bearable, a lot has changed and been left out to condense the story for tv which I understand and it wasn't too bad. It's always difficult when you read a story first and your imagination dictates how things and people look, so I can accept it will be different and it was bearable. Season 2 however is actually so far from the story it's like watching something I have not read. It's back to front, it's upside down, time is spent on things that aren't central to the story (Marcus and Phoebe) and I feel parts have been left out that were needed or entirely missed. I'm also aware that actors will almost never live up to what you imagine and mostly I can cope with that, but the actor playing phillipe just does not fit the bill. Phillipe is described as a bear of a man. He's huge. Or supposed to be.....the actor playing him is just too small. Phillipe is the king of the vampires, no-one would dare to cross him, yet I'm more scared of gerbert than I am phillipe. I'm quite disappointed. To those who haven't read the book, I'm sure it's great, but if you've read the books i think you'll be disappointed.
