If you are a history buff, DO NOT watch this film.
If you are just an average movie goer, this review does not apply to you.
In short, the movie is extremely disappointing and quite tedious.
In my opinion, what was meant to be a movie destined to tell the story of brilliance, ambition, and failure, falls very far from its potential as it gets lost in a messy romance. The writing and the pacing of the movie take away Napoleon's historical achievements and depict him as a glorified "simp". It is a shame that Apple Studio has chosen a "romantic" and domestic approach to the story of Napoleon, instead of using his brilliant achievements to carry the pacing of the film.
The movie feels like a parody, focusing on the messy romance of Napoleon and Josephine. The visuals of the battles are nice; however, the weight and the emotional atmosphere of the battles are empty. For a story that is inspiring in history, this film has made Napoleon's image stale.
