The Walking Dead defines exactly how gripping the initial seasons of an amazing show must be, great character and story development in the first 3 seasons that a sci fi series starts to feel emotional and real. But then it just throws all of that in the trashcan and turns it into a ridiculous reality TV show. It's really sad to see one of your favourite TV shows turn to dust. I quit watching after the first 2 episodes of season 8 and unless I think they change a lot I don't plan on watching.
