One of the most inspiring medical stories I have come across and and tear-jerking sympathy for the treatment of Vivien Thomas for several decades. Fortunately he did, at last, receive the honour and respect due to him. I have stood in front of his portrait in Johns Hopkins and wept tears of sadness over the frustrations and the earlier indignities he suffered mixed with tears of gladness and joy for his eventual "rehabilitation"
