Watched this movie on Netflix last night and was compelled to read the other reviews before posting. The casting was superb, Timothy Spall’s Cullen character is clearly a very unique socio-psychopath. One scary man to ever make the mistake of crossing. Sam Claflin’s Liam, believable in the lead and, without giving anything away, Naomi Ackie as Grace, hit her range on the mark, a beautiful young actress showing great promise. Noel Clarke as DC Beckett, did what he does, his character was limited. His partner DC Gemma’s character was the least developed, some little nuggets offered up, but overall I was the least impressed with the where/how she unfolded. The Hammond character was actually the one that really gives us the best insight into how greed takes over and his character growth is way more chilling than the Cullen character, they are both the epitome of what greed and corruption looks like in the world of government, construction & law enforcement.
The torture and kill scenes were a little graphic, but guessing that is pretty much the reality in that world. Overall, a truly enjoyable film delivering the title flawlessly.
