I saw The Mole People at a tiny indoor theater in Brighton, CO, circa 1956-57. It was pretty scary. Lots of subterranean action. But are the creatures people who became moles, or moles who became people? I snacked on popcorn infused with melted M&Ms. Hugh Beaumont was featured in this film- you may remember him as Ward Cleaver from TV's Leave It To Beaver. Was the Beaver a beaver who became a kid, or a kid who became a beaver? These questions haunted my young mind. The theater was later sold and converted to a Knights of Columbus Hall. This left us only one place in Brighton to view films - the Kar-Vu Drive In. Please enjoy the Mole People for its depiction of earnest adventurers and tortured creatures.It was a pivotal cinematic moment for me.
