I've played off and on since beta. The Lord of the Rings Online is a tremendous treat for MMO fans, but especially for Tolkien fans. I can't think of another game that has come as close to realizing Middle-earth in a digital space, nor one that has done so as faithfully as LOTRO. Certainly some LOTR tabletop games have been able to maintain a more "pure" version of this world, but there is nothing like making a character and exploring Middle-earth for yourself.
