I own this book. It belonged to my parents who purchased it in 1944 when it was first published by Time Life, Inc. Over the years, I have pored through different sections, always taking time to reflect on what was pictured and then what was written by Richard Wilcox. It is a book to be treasured by all Engliophiles (like me), as well as those who may want to visit UK someday, to see for themselves any of the places that still exist ... not as they existed 80 years ago, of course, but as they are able to be discerned today. Christopher Morley's introduction is an added treat to one's enjoyment of this book.
