Can Dakota act? maybe she can and director wanted an emotionless, monotoned voice from beginning to end. Spot the comedy well yes Pedro demonstrating his real height by dropping to under Dakota’s breast level height, ( me and daughter cracked up in cinema) on his confession of pre leg extensions was hilarious. Only comic scene I spotted. Pedro was brilliant and should have had more scenes. Chris was beige and bland in his scenes. Well matched in that respect to Dakota. Treated the audience as dumb wits with the ooh shock/horror risk women confront on dates, yeah we know, yet we have a storyline of a woman going on date, and Dakota referring to ‘restraining order’ we’ll blow me down. Message: not sure maybe marry for love not materialism you won’t be happy and short guys don’t bother getting surgery you will still get dumped. 2/5

Thought it was best film I have seen for a long time. Florence Pugh carries an Oscar winning performance. Shame it was not screened and hidden in Netflix

Wonder how many outakes they collected when Cathy Burke appeared as that seaside postcard caricature, they must have been laughing more than saying their lines. Authentic scenes of the blitz have to say never been matched in other depictions of the London bombing. Lots of ‘things British say and do’ cringe cliches. Actors great. Don’t think anyone of my mum’s age would be eager to watch it as a child of war. She blocked so much out but remembers the sound of bombs exploding and was terrified going down the underground. Heartbreaking scene when they locked the gates. There was an incident when hundreds got crushed on the stairs of underground believe there is a memorial plaque noting this. Take note anyone learning about the blitz don’t take this as factual depiction it’s not a film of accuracy. Read reliable historical books of the blitz. George is a star, hope we see him in the future.

Absolutely hooked. Learning historically through the years about the conflicts between occupiers and Jews, Arabs. Culturally so informative. Men may assume it’s a soap drama for women but it is more than that. I would not be engaged if it was a lightweight fluffy romance as a woman. It’s brutal and authentic. Great acting and love the matriarch Masada who rules the household and manages to bring solutions mostly to the crises. Fine acting from Rosa’s brother Efrim just as I hate him, I love him in equal measure.

Great feel for soho in the 60’s. Thought how it was a man’s world where women were there to be ornaments, sexual gratification by older men in power and had no voice. How times are changing for the better in that respect. Female lead is very believable and vulnerable as she is stuck in the past having lost her mum and struggles to move into the future and to discover who she is. Enjoyable 9/10

Really enjoyed this film. A surprise find on Stan. Great performances from the main actors, plus Kevin Costner. Big players who have it all, big houses, cars, jets, etc get fired and get a reality check when the fat pay checks are not rolling in. Are they humbled by this experience? Ben Affleck’s character realises he was never home and starts spending some time with his kids and takes a low paid job (humbled well not really, well maybe a tiny bit). Greedy big corporations. Then there is the rest of us. Great film 9/10

Very Baz Luhrmann with clothes and spectacle but Spratt from De Caprio and Toby McGuire everyone else was miscast. 6/10

Great movie, a love story and great to see majority on screen are black actors. Finally fine actors dominate the cast. More of this!!!
