Dark and foreboding, slow paced but you will get your reward in the end. You need to watch it more than once to grasp the whole. The actors were all brilliant. Phil's love-hate for Peter I think stems from him being closeted and the latter not trying to hide who he is behind machismo. Beyond the obvious, this is a love story, a love story between Phil and Bronco Henry. The latter never appeared on screen but he was everywhere because of Phil. He was hoping for another love story with Peter but that one had revenge in mind. It is also about change. George is ready to move forward but Phil is comfortable glorying in the past. He wants things to remain the same. I suppose that is why he resents Rose and the changes her presence brings I love the film though in the beginning I could not bring myself to watch Benedict Cumberbatch being cruel. He is such a great actor.
