Only on Chapter 20 and so far I am thoroughly enjoying the book. I had to stop a few times because my heart was entwine with some of the hardships slave mothers had to face. Being separated from their children having to watch their children die. it was gut-wrenching and I literally cried at the thought especially being a black woman and mother myself. but as it is so hard to listening to the bad the warmth of the affection and love that is displayed almost balances it out. So far I am giving the book a 5 out of 5.

I thoroughly love her style of music and straightforward artistic lyrics. She told a story every time I heard her sing. I remember when this album first came out. I was in awe. I was only around 12 years old had no business singing some of the lyrics on the album but I remember knowing for a fact I myself could write and sing as well. She along with a few others are my influences to the music that I do
