Raanjhana is an emotion….
This is just not a random film about a love story but a beautiful art work which depicts the unrequited, failed yet strong bond of love which a human experiences in the phase of love.
It has beautifully captured the blazing passion when fallen in love which is portrayed by Dhanush whose acting marvel has left me speechless. His depiction of a boy who is enchanted by a girl and has not thought of anything beyond his love who gets so oblivious to everyone and everything in this world. His maddening rage for his love gives an insight of the depth of love a person can go into. And the inner turmoil which he goes through from fuming with anger upon realisation of a deceive to self culminating repentance is just marvellous. Dhanush and kundan has made me love him and his character respectively.
Sonam kapoor is someone with whom forging a connect or seeing her as an actor of some impact seems very difficult. However in this movie I can’t say that she has disappointed rather she has acted fairly good. Suffice it to say that Raanjhana is the only feather in her cap of closet where she has done fine.
I loves the idea of makers who depicted a girl who in her teens just falls into an innocent and mindless love who later matures and finds her true love and tries to secure through every possible means.
Coming to Abhay Deol who has had a special appearance in the movie though but my God this short stint feels like an impounding and immensely powerful performance. His character was no less impact full as of Kundan. He has looked so effortlessly charming and righteous that has earned respect and shows he has a class in itself.
Special mention to Swara Bhaskar and Zeeshan Ayub who have been phenomenal throughout their course of journey. They have nailed in their shoes from Swara’s expression, her ranting abuses and appearance to Zeeshan’s timing and dialogue such as of “pyar na hua UPSC ka exam ho gya”. Big applause to them.
And hats off the the Direction and Writer.
So before I conclude I’d like to state that I was not in mood to pen this review because I’ve just finished watching this movie a fourth time and it evokes so much of emotions that only warm feelings mixed with tears, awe and love one experiences and couldn’t be conveyed through mere words though I can go on and on…
So whenever I want to listen mesmerising music by A.R Rahman, watch brilliant performance or feel the JNU fervour or the fever of love, I’d watch it over and over again.
