Why does this movie have a one star rating; if one has read the Ray Bradbury book, then it is an absurdity to leave such a unwarranted rating. The book is complex and sometimes difficult to make sense of; it is almost like walking through a dream. Does the movie have to follow the book to the letter; of course not, for they are different genres, and each must succeed within their own limitations or expanses. Yes, the book is hugely different, and Montag is not even married in the movie, with much else differing besides. But the essence of the book, and the meaningful message it conveys, is present. Ironically, the movie is a self fulfilling prophesy; nothing can replace the magnificence of the written word - not a movie, not anything. So read Fahrenheit 451 ('the temperature at which books burn), and see for yourself why Bradbury became the winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for this novel. Read the book, then watch the movie, and you will be a wiser man.
