Coming from the same universe from the first trilogy of Fear Street adaptations… this is a piss poor representation of those MUCH better films. It IS great representation of Netflix’s inability to make a good thing twice. The writing is tacky and blocky but not in an endearing “ this movie is set in the 80’s!” way. The pacing is too fast and then too slow and so weird at some points??? The story is boring, the “mean girl” is boring and theres a random ass dance scene??? It’s all just so painfully cringe. The majority of the acting is bad, and even for the actors that did well the writing is so SO BAD they can only do so much with it. The reveal of who the killers are… again, SO PAINFULLY ANNOYINGLY BORING. I wouldn’t waste an hour and a half of your life’s precious time on this movie, because any hope you have for it to make your night more enjoyable will be a bitter letdown. The only thing I enjoyed out of this horror movie were some kills but even they were mostly boring and used CGI. Coming from the grandios, gut wrenching kills from the first trilogy… it’s such a letdown.
Would rather watch a group of 4th graders attempt to tell me the lore of skibidi toilet to me than watch this again. Would be less cringe.
1/5.
