My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5) – A decent, entertaining one-time watch
✅ Positives
• Cinematography & Locations: The Kerala backdrop is shown beautifully — lush greenery, peaceful rivers, and natural beauty that make you feel proud of India’s landscapes. Honestly, the shots reminded me of my own Kerala school trip, but now with fresh eyes, I could see how stunning our country is.
• Lead Pair: Sidharth Malhotra looked great on screen, and Janhvi Kapoor, for the first time in my view, actually fit the role well. Their chemistry isn’t groundbreaking, but it’s enjoyable.
• Side Characters: The heroine’s sister, hero’s father, and other supporting roles were surprisingly well-acted and added warmth to the story.
• Music Highlight: The standout gem is Paradesiya sung by Sonu Nigam. This is one of those rare songs that elevates the entire movie’s emotions. I strongly feel every Bollywood love story needs at least one Sonu Nigam track — his voice is timeless.
⚖️ Average Points
• Story & Romance: The story is not new — it’s predictable and has typical romantic-drama tropes. But if you don’t go in looking for logic, it’s entertaining.
• Sound Quality: In Miraj Cinemas, Mulund, the sound was balanced. Dialogues were clear, background score was noticeable, but it lacked the old “chest-thumping bass” feel. Earlier, theatres used to make dramatic or sad songs shake your heart with heavy sound, but now things are more balanced. Not bad — just different.
🚫 Negatives
• Originality: Some scenes felt like déjà vu — something we’ve already seen in many Bollywood love stories.
• Critic Mismatch: Critics are calling it a flop because they expect “high-class storytelling.” But honestly, this is made for the mass audience who just want a romantic, feel-good entertainer.
🍿 My Theatre Experience
The audience around me enjoyed the jokes, the songs, and the emotional parts. — everyone was there for the same reason: to enjoy cinema.
🌍 Bigger Reflection
Watching this film made me realize how underrated Indian beauty is. We keep hearing negative things about India — dirt, chaos, scams — but movies like this remind us how breathtakingly beautiful our country is. If we add cleanliness, civil sense, and safety for tourists, India could become one of the greatest destinations in the world.
Yes, we have challenges — overcrowding, people not respecting public spaces. But most Indians have pure hearts, and we are learning. One day, I believe, foreigners will not only see India’s problems, but also its soul.
🎯 Final Verdict
If you want logic and perfection → this film will disappoint.
If you want a simple, romantic entertainer with beautiful visuals, good-looking leads, and one unforgettable Sonu Nigam song → this is worth a one-time theatre watch.
