The Kopys

Just giving this old gem a listen after a couple decade hiatus...In retrospect, it's hard to believe that this album wasn't critically acclaimed. Of course the critics back then were...oh, what? They still are now??? It's why most people are unaware of this album (not to mention the ones that came before an after). Lyrically, the songs here would hold up with anything that Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen...oh, what? who are they?? Well that's just the point. Most people don't know who those people are, even though they're both in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame... And the band he put together were top tier! There's nothing here that a Springsteen fan wouldn't absolutely adore, let alone Reed and Cohen...except for those damn critics!! This album is so worth listening to, if you're unaware of Elliott Murphy, and for those who know about him, then it's high time for a re-listen!
