Frankly, avoid this film. It's a waste of time and money. It has been heralded as the hit of 2025 and should win a bevvy of Oscars. If it even scores a mention at those awards then it's punching above its weight. The plot is boring and predictable. An array of credentialled actors cant even save it. The Catholic Church has endured chaos, scandal and intrigue for centuries. Whilst the movie doesn't pretend to be accurate aligned to history, it runs with dull and drawn out plot , only to end with ridiculous and sensational woke overtones. I know movies such as these should allow us to embark on a creative journey that challenges the confines of our staid imaginations but this silly nonsense is an insult to the standing of the Church in our society. It's a poor attempt to portray what is a solemn and sacred phase of ecclesiastical life that envelops the Church upon the death of its leader. Conclave is nothing but a shabby attack on one's intelligence and moreover undermines the Church in today's world.
