I believe the book is easy to read and the illustrations were very detailed and exciting. I did, however, find it hard to understand why the little boy was imagining these things. Was the little boy an orphan who was trying to make himself feel important? Were these actual day by day stories or was this all imagination? What did the little boy have to do with the prince? I was left with more questions than the book was able to answer and if I was reading this to a child, I wouldn't be able to answer their questions either. I enjoyed the book from the surface, but anything deeper than that is just going to give you a headache.
