This book I found impossible to put down. It struck so many chords in terms of growing up in a mining village. Some of the prevailing attitudes of the 50’s exacerbated educational attainment and career opportunities.
This book had me crying and laughing and enabled me to relate very deeply to the journey Wes had to navigate.
It’s been a long time since I so enjoyed an autobiography which expressed such heartfelt honesty.
Seeing Wes on T.V. makes you realise how his upbringing and the loving care of his family has made him so resilient and his intelligence just shines through if anybody takes him on !
Look forward to seeing him in the years to come as a great leader!
