The series is indeed addicting. However, the back-and-forths between present day and flashback can be confusing and even inconsistent. One thing I found very confusing is: Canek goes home to his mother, and there is a photo of Chela, who's dead. And yet, there's another subsequent scene where Canek's mom dies while protecting the boy Emiliano, for which she gets a bullet in the head. At this time, Chela is very much alive, as she even dissuades Canek from removing his mother from the hospital. Another question: why does Canek want to remove his mother from the hospital, where she can get the best care, certainly better than if he were to take her home? We understand that people under a lot of stress can act irrationally, but even stressed people know that one can get more and better professional care in the hospital than at home.
Season 2 ends without the matter getting resolved or straightened out. :(
