This album is superb. The thing that Ghost does well is evolve musically while maintaining an unmistakable sound and style. I’ve been listening to Ghost for a decade now, and I love that I can listen to their entire catalog in chronological order and it feels like a natural progression, album to album. Like the previous entries, Skeleta evolves in its own unique way, with massive guitar solos, synths, and big anthems. But there are also the chunky guitar rhythms and darker piano pieces that will harken back to the earlier albums. You can’t listen to the Skeleta songs and NOT find yourself absent-mindedly humming the tunes later. I’ve tried, it’s impossible. enjoy!
