Amazingly I never missed an episode. I am not saying that I was never too busy to watch every episode as it aired, but I watched the teasers and was so smitten that I set my VCR for record and left it on for 12 twelve years. I recorded and watched each episode as it aired and until Young Shelton began its run. I had always started my evening of prime time viewership with TBBT but it made sense to me to insert YS into the prequel position. To see the original scenarios that established his foundation of self and the world around him was fun and reminded me of my daughters, who strangely NEVER cared for TBBT. Watching the writers create sense of Sheldon and his friends' attempts to keep Sheldon in the their lives when everything shouted for them to punch him in the nose and extricate themselves FROM his craziness was spellbinding and hilarious. Each character drew from the others what was needed and gave as much as possible, albeit sometimes not as willingly as may be in the recounting, to support the group and individual. I love the letters but I didn't notice them for years and when I did it seemed that the numbers, not the notes themselves, were being repeated. I believe we, the TBBT/YS universe, have been prepped for Old Sheldon or When Sheldon Met Penny Theory.
