Myths busted by this cookbook:
Diabetic meals are hard to balance.
Cookbooks are rigid and require too much planning
Authors don't understand my needs.
It's very tempting to grab a cookbook and start searching for a twist on your favorite items, but you'd be missing one BIG reason this cookbook is set apart from others. From the intro on, you can see the author's desire to bring a fuller, happier life to those living with diabetes. There's so much to learn in the first chapter about small changes that have a big impact - and it comes across as a friend genuinely concerned about the reader.
As you delve into the recipes, you find something for everyone - Asian-inspired or southern "soul food" - and everything in between. There are plenty of options for even the pickiest eater!
Not forgetting the many differing needs of individuals, she's also classified recipes as gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, nut-free, etc. In addition, many recipes have "shortcuts" you can plan ahead (perfect if you don't want as much to deal with for your Saturday morning breakfast) and storage info so you can save time on a later meal.
Great layout, well thought out index. Definitely a keeper!
