The animation was beautiful. Very well done. The songs were not great, but very passable compared to other musical attempts ive seen. It got a foot tap but I wont remember it in a couple months. Tbh. Im american so I didnt notice the chinese inaccuracies listed on 1 star reviews. Theres a lot of cliches and sections I felt could have been cut or fixed. However despite all of that, the biggest let down? The Dad. Time moves iffy in this movie but it was clear Fei Fei was never told of his relationship with the Step Mom. She was still grieving and trust me, 4 yrs is not a long time for a child when parent death is involved. (Maybe for you but not for me) They were planning marriage and she didnt even know they were dating. It was very unfair to his girlfriend and his daughter. How were they meant to form a bond? Suddenly appearing and changing her mothers mooncake recipe?? Oh of course this young girl is going to act out. Of course shes upset. And the Step mom is hurt as well. He doesnt even apologise, its completely skipped over. And many reviews dont seem to notice and blame Fei Fei...shes a young girl who loved her mother. They built up her meaning and then act like she was being selfish? Maybe a little but shes a child. Dad should have told her, eased her into it. She would have been upset but maybe not go to the moon upset. Dad is the main cause of all the trouble in this movie. The villian in my eyes and he gets away with it. :/
