Beautifully written and apparently very well ressearched and compromised with giving readers a truthful view of geisha life and their times.

I am still digesting it. It is a great book, there is a lot to reflect upon and I can't help thinking that if I had read it when I was in my 20s it would be the book of my life.

It's always a pleasure to follow Poirot in discovering a mystery. This one is particularly modern in some of the characters' views on murderers.

Great book. It is quite different from the show.... But in a good way. The story, the characters are so good that you feel happy to learn more about them.

Eça de Queiróz is such a treat when it comes to nineteenth century realism in his subtle but certain attack on burgeouis hypocrisy.
