What an absolutely destructive load of drivel.
The book started with such great promise - an interesting and intriguing premise set in a world where girls and women have more physical power than men. I was so excited to see where the author would take us.
But she took us nowhere. Through, I assume, laziness and lack of imagination, she simply reversed the roles. She took the ugliest characteristics of the least of men and imposed them on women, giving us female rapists, a female politician who cared more for money and power than her own daughter (and who becomes an ogling, arse-grabbing lech), male genital mutilation, pregnancy termination when the foetus is male - she came up with not one single new idea after the initial chapters.
Misogyny at its ugliest. I'm ashamed and furious that this was written by a woman.
