Finished Episodes 1-11 on Disney+.
Hardly feel like there's a "filler scene or character".The entire cast are worth their weight in gold. Great layers of villainy and victimhood.
You know it's wonderful acting & a refreshing plot when you find yourself immersed in their world, their lives and their experiences, and hardly thinking this is a Blackpink singer etc.
A good mixture of comical, candid, solemn. The plot moves along at a good pace, and there are wonderful comical moments (pot noodle, fried chicken) and romance, and great lines. The beautiful soft lighting, cinematography of 1980s and the modest elegant fashion makes me a 1991 feel envious. Bar the terrible political aspects of course.
While I empathise with the petition, and the initial episodes that led to people thinking it was akin to hiding a Nazi who's pretending to be a Jew... I've found the show ignited my interest in the real history of it all, and led me to read up on the it all. While historical distortion & inadvertent glorification of aspects of history can be unhelpful ... the show itself evolves to show us it's more about power play, humans on both sides making choices that reveal who we are deep down. So a great watch.
Thank you Disney+ and keen for remaining episodes.
