Honestly this didn't need to be remade. Since it's a new storyline and it doesnt honor the orginal nor Brandon Lee , it really could just be a completely new movie. The whole point of the movie is that Eric and Shelly are young incocent couple in love who live in a bad neighborhood and die a brutal death. Eric comes back to life to avenge Shelly and then he dies peacefully.
