When I first heard of this game, I was glad to hear that Zelda would be embarking on her own adventure to save Link, and the kingdom of Hyrule. It's nice of Phillips to give the princess an opportunity to show her strength and valor, and that the Princess of Hyrule has not only wisdom but also courage....
That's how I thought it would be. But now I see how wrong I was. I've never actually played this game, but after reading all the bad reviews and watching the walkthroughs for this game, I understand how it caused so many players to suffer.
Phillips RUINED the Zelda franchise when they made this game. Thanks to Nintendo, now we have much better games like Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, the Wind Waker, and Majora's Mask which exceed my expectations on what a good game should be. (Yes, this obviously includes Ocarina of Time, too.) In THIS one, the Triforce isn't even involved! How could Phillips possibly forget the Golden Power that bestows whoever wields it the thing they most desire? The whole plot of Zelda revolves around it, from the prologue of Skyward Sword, when Demise pursued it with his evil hordes, to Ocarina of Time, where what remains of Demise's evil soul is reincarnated as the Gerudo King Ganondorf with the same greed for power, hatred for Link and Zelda and desire to conquer and destroy, to the end of Breath of the Wild, where Zelda uses it against Calamity Ganon, who tires of pursuing it after centuries of being born again with the same greedy desires to take it and destroy Hyrule. Without the Triforce, why is Ganon, or the CD-I makers may prefer ‘Gannon’ with a double N, conquering Tolemac for no reason?
I think that this game the true form of Ganondorf’s spirit. It’s THIS GAME that I see devouring Zelda’s soul at the near end of Skyward Sword. It’s THIS GAME that I see ravaging and obliterating Hyrule a century ago from Breath of the Wild, and even though Ganondorf was not involved in Majora’s Mask at all whatsoever, THIS GAME is also the MOON that falls on Clock Town and annihilates not only Termina but the ENTIRE LEGEND OF ZELDA FRANCHISE!
...
(figuratively speaking, of course.)
...
And besides, what's even the point of forcing the player to wait 5 seconds after entering/exiting a location? Is it just the laggy, incompetent low quality of the game, or did Phillips add that feature just to annoy anyone who plays it?
But who am I to constructively criticize a game I've never played before?
