Fury Road challenges you and your expectation of what an action move is or can be, and taxes your desire for what you want out of a Mad Max movie. If you let yourself ride shotgun and take it all in, allowing yourself to get emotionally involved with the movie, you will find that it's not the movie's incredible visuals, nor the nail biting high speed vehicular combat scenes, but the characters are what truly makes Fury Road shine due to the stunning performance by virtually the entire main cast. Even some minor characters have standout moments. Subtlety is abound in these performances, and so much is said without words in this movie. The characters and their interactions with each other is what pushes it over the top, with Furiosa absolutely running away as a standout all time great.
