An ambitious but blatantly disrespectful attempt to pay homage to the maestro in re-imagining Ray's four short stories considering the present times. Only the first three (Forget Me Not, Bahurupiya and Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa ) stand out to some extent due to decent scripts, above average acting skills displayed by Ali Fazal, Kay Kay Menon, Monoj Bajpai and Gajraj Rao, and quite good direction by Srijit and Abhishek.
But the last one (Spotlight) is a disaster with a pathetic script, dumb, expressionless and horrible performance by Harshavardhan Kapoor (seems he got casted simply being a star-kid, he knows nothing about acting at all) and senseless direction. Chandan Roy Sanyal's performance is the only positive.
If Ray was to watch these modern (American) adaptations of his brilliant Indian stories he would have fainted.
