I feel for the actors with the limited depth their characters were allowed to display. Definitely, evidence of poor writing and mediocre directing. The only connectable character was Duncan but that was brief playful banter prior to his leaving for Arrakis. Filming was often to dark to see, sound was from whispering to boom track music or effects. Way to long for what it delivered. Too much time spent on needless filler that could have been removed without impacting their limited storyline. Worse yet is to end the movie with Paul finally meeting the Freman. Based on what’s presented so far, if the next movie is made we might get to meet other Freman and talk about the history of their hardships. Glad I watched it at home rather than waste the money at the theater.
