I have played a lot of games over the years. One of my favorite genres are RPGs. For the past decade From Software delivers on what they do best and have been so successful that it had created a sub genre of RPGs, the Souls-like. Now in an open world setting, this feels like a culmination of everything had made for the past decade. I am happy of my experience in my playthrough throughout the Lands Between. I have met many memorable characters like Blaidd and Alexander. A lot of the game feels familiar at first it becomes very different after the first few hours and it is there I felt the click in these games where I understand how different this game is compared to other Souls games. Besides the open world nature, the game expands combat options in a way that makes the gameplay so much smoother compared to previous games. It has some mechanics taken from From's other games, Sekiro and Bloodborne, and combines them to create quite a game. The story is more intriguing and easier to follow but still retains the mystery these games are well known for. The bosses feel epic and are a huge step up in terms of design and difficulty. Honestly though the game is not perfect. The performance on the first day was terrible for me but after I downloaded the new update I never encountered these technical problems again. But other than that. Overall I had a fun time and whatever issues I had does not detriment my overall experience of this game. I am happy From has managed to create this game and one that I feel like Miyazaki always wanted to make.
