A sort of wishy washy book that has been crafted together using fairly baseless arguments and irrelevant examples.
I’ve just recently re-read the book as I was curious about it after seeing it on the shelf on a bookshop.
I doesn’t actually provide any real insight as to why fads and fashions explode in the way that the do. The information he does provide uses fairly unique examples that would be of little argument if they came under any scrutiny. Sesame Street being occupies a large chapter of the book. Furthermore his theories of why crime drastically reduced in New York throughout the late eighties isn’t much of theory as it is more of referencing certain events and using them to support his what he sees as fact.
The book is mostly aimed at app producers, would be Instagram stars who hope to read the book and use the information contained within to launch their careers into the stratosphere. It’s a lot of drivel and not aloe of substance.
