Wow…..just wow. I did not expect to get SO sucked in, and so quickly. But it’s been impossible to stop watching - the dualities within each character are riveting to see as their inner struggles unfold with the story.
This show examines the many sides of humanity like a prism, reflecting their different angles, perspectives, motivations. It’s a stunningly exquisite portrait of how we can’t simply attach labels to people in an attempt to define them - we are each more, MUCH more, than just our successes, mistakes, our looks, choices, or professions. We’re more than our pasts, even as they help to shape and build us - yet they are but a piece of our identity, a mere facet of our prism. Human are ever-evolving, and it’s beautiful to see the characters in this show in their unique evolutions.
It was also utterly fascinating to watch the shifting sands of public opinion, and the rise and fall of kings and queens. How fickle we can be sometimes - we think we are good and we will cheer on an underdog with ferocious fealty - but only to a certain point. They must not rise too fast, too high, for too long, lest we need to yank them back down and school and scold them for their sin.
The Morning Show exceeded my expectations and had me reaching for the tissues, often. It has a way of smacking you in the gut as it holds up a mirror to your very life. You will recognize family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances. And you will see the complexities of their lives shine through in ways you have never before considered. Brilliant in every way!
