Reading other reviews, I can see what time we are living in..."systemic oppression, etc." Of course it's about sex. Isn't everything,,,in some way?That said; female sexuality has always been the male gaze's weak spot. The film does a good job of illuminating this with decent acting and beautiful cinematography supporting the mood-which seems authentic for the time and place. The pace and tension is fairly taut with tensions slowly ramping up as the inquisition develops and underscoring how fallible human reasoning is once there is a template that's used overzealously.
