This has always been my favourite slasher/video nasty film. One major piece of info I will point out though is it was actually written before Friday 13th, so not a rip-off at all. At least this film has some decent acting unlike a lot of other films of this genre.

Not a bad film, but certainly not the greatest film in the universe. However, I was quite shocked when protagonist Frank turned out not to be a villain because usually mob bosses, and psychotic nutcases are almost called Frank in films, TV, books and even video games. All in all I enjoyed it. If you like mystery thrillers with a touch of romance thrown in for good measure, then this will be right up your street.

Having watched this gem for the millionth time recently, I couldn't help but think about all the other countless 'campers in peril' type films I've viewed and how I never tire of them. This film is no exception. A great film if you're seeking ultimate 70's horror nostalgia.

For a film that grossed over forty-five million dollars at the box office it's quite normal to stumble into so many mixed reviews. This remake of the 1972 Wes Craven cult classic is a well-made thriller (not horror) with plenty of tension and gore compared to the original. Although it lacks the campiness of its predecessor in many ways, the brutality sure makes up for it. Director Dennis lliadis creates the perfect storm as a perfect backdrop for the latter half of the film. In my opinion the ending was ridiculously far-fetched and disappointing. But hey...what else can you expect from a film involving psychotic producers?

Not a bad film with some tense moments. Although the idea was borrowed from countless films before it. Nowhere near as gripping as The Shallows in my opinion.
