Quirky film. Incredible art direction, music and Victorian costume ala steampunk and Alice in Wonderland. Emma Stone is fearless and deserved her Oscar. Very funny if you like dark humor. A weird and tender monster story. Mark Ruffalo, Wiilem Dafoe are wonderful. I laughed out loud and loved it.

While it is impossible to erase the original from your mind while watching, this is a beautiful movie. Much more “relevant.” Wonderful to have the leads actually sing. The photography and the lighting are spectacular. Spielberg at the top of his game. Still heart wrenching.
