Recently, i watched this maharashtrian movie, 'Tumbbad', based on Indian mythology.
The movie is directed by Rahi Anil Barve & produced by Sohum Shah, who is also a lead actor, playing the role of 'Vinayak Rao'.
The story tends to take place in 'Tumbbad' village of Maharashtra, when the British rule over India was nearing its end.
A young man 'Vinayak Rao' who straightaway challenges the nature & unlocks the door of horror to quench his thirst for wealth, leaving its audience with a spine chilling experience.
Because of its strong base of Indian mythological touch, the movie holds the powerful position in mythology\horror fiction genre.
The best part about the movie is its visual effects - used to present the grandeousity of nature. It really makes the heart go Wow.
I must say that movie 'Tumbbad' entails a good concept picked from Indian mythology. & If it gathers a large number of viewership, it justifies itself fairly for its gain.
Entire presentation of the movie is such, that it has built its unique place in the World Cinema.
