I’ll be honest, I went into this one with zero expectations, and it just completely pulled me in. What starts off as a fun post grad trip quickly spirals into something way bigger. Full on isekai vibes as five friends get thrown into a strange new world. They’re immediately under attack, rescued, and then hit with the bombshell that they’ve shown up way earlier than some prophecy said they would. And that’s where things really kick off.
The POV shifts between all five friends, which I actually enjoyed because it gave everyone their moment. But most of the weight falls on Ethan, he’s hot headed, feels guilty for everything, and still ends up being the one pushing hardest for answers. He’s that natural leader type, even if he’s stumbling through it and raging against fate along the way.
What hooked me is the mix of big, epic fantasy scope with that fish out of water isekai energy. You’ve got these kids thrown into a world full of danger, lore, and expectations, and they’re just trying to keep up while also figuring out who they’re supposed to be.
The pacing worked well, steady build, good tension, and enough action to keep me flipping pages. A couple of POV jumps felt a little sudden, but nothing that pulled me out. By and large, it flowed really smoothly.
And the world? Even though we don’t get a full tour of it yet, it feels alive. The hints of history, the magic, the whispers of lore, it’s all there, making Caelunarra feel real without ever drowning you in info dumps.
If you’re into epic fantasy with isekai flavor, this one’s worth checking out. It’s got adventure, heart, and characters who feel messy and real while trying to live up to something way bigger than themselves. I had a blast with it, and I’m already curious where the prophecy and this crew are going next.
